This 40" X 40" wallhanging is from a Nancy Halvorsen ART TO HEART pattern titled Joy to the World. It is machine appliqued and quilted. This was a fun project to match up and use lots of leftover fabric. I made the complete project but it could be easily broken down into smaller scenes if desired.
After making 3 placemats for the Guild's recent charity placemat project for Meals on Wheels, I decided this year I would do placemats for Christmas presents and also make a set for me. I made my set reversible with two different looks. The more casual side on top was made with a Charm Pack while the reverse side has a fancy cardinal fabric strip. The fabrics are more "wintery" than "Christmas" so the placemats can be used after Christmas is over.
Who are we? Just a group of stitching friends in the north-central Pennsylvania mountains. We love to quilt, sew, knit, embroider, and just about anything else that involves a needle and thread. Please feel free to comment on our posts. We'd love to know who visits our blog.
