One of my favorite Halloween "quilt" decorations is this wallhanging I made using a pattern I saw in a Keepsake Catalog several years ago. The witch hair, spider web and spider body are made of yarn and added after the machine applique and quilting was done.
My barn quilt is finally up on the shed at the top of our driveway. My husband even put new siding on the shed before hanging it. I do not have a very visible location for it so it is not easy to see from the road because of the location of our garage and shed. I have a perfect view from my kitchen sink so that is a plus.
This small quilt is the result of winning a charm pack at our guild's July meeting when the topic was Modern Quilts. I tried to apply the speaker's guidelines for "modern" quilts when trying to decide what to do with fabric that I never would have chosen on my own. After lots of research on internet sites for modern quilts I settled on this design.
Who are we? Just a group of stitching friends in the north-central Pennsylvania mountains. We love to quilt, sew, knit, embroider, and just about anything else that involves a needle and thread. Please feel free to comment on our posts. We'd love to know who visits our blog.
