Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild held a winter mini-retreat last Saturday at First Presbyterian Church.  Grace and Bonnie were our hostesses and Bonnie taught us Anita Grossman Solomon's simplified method for making these interesting arrowhead blocks.

I have made 29 blocks so far, so I guess I'm making a brown quilt!  Not my usual palette, but I have a nice collection of earth tone batiks to use up and somebody I know will love a brown quilt, I'm sure!

A Wedding Quilt

My sister-in-law's son got married in September and I offered to make them a quilt.  They wanted a wall quilt to celebrate the wedding.  Using the color scheme of the wedding and a pattern from the Janome website, I made this for them.
The card at the bottom of the quilt is the bride's "Save the Date" card, from which I took the color scheme. She's a glitzy girl, so there is some pink metallic thread and some pink crystals, too.
