Recently my daughter reminded me she didn't have a suitable seasonal banner for her mini flag stand so I decided to make the tulip from the 2006 March/April issue of Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting magazine.  I liked the result so much I decided to make the complete project featured in the magazine.  It was designed by Leisa Breheny.  The tulips are paper pieced and the project was machine quilted.

Spring Mini Flag

This is the spring mini flag from Wee Ones, Plays With Wool.  I did this one with felted wool and all hand sewing rather than the quilting method I sometimes use on these mini flags.  I did manage to get the flower reversed from the pattern when tracing the pattern on the fusible web.  Not the first time I've done that!

Blue Diamonds

A few years ago I had the idea to use up small blue fabric scraps using one inch paper diamond templates I bought at a quilt show.  When the paper templates started wearing out after hand sewing several hundred diamonds together with no plan in mind I decided to just make a pillow top and be done with the project.  I was not very conscientious about light, medium and dark colors but I am pleased with the pillow and how it looks on my blue sofa.
