You can make these coasters by using a leftover quilt block. I used a nine patch block, cutting it down the center and across the center, then layered it right sides facing the backing fabric. Sew and turn right side out and sew closed. Quilt if desired. I saw the idea on a pinterest site "by two.hippos".
A few posts back I was getting this vintage quilt top ready for quilting so I could finally display it. I did minimal hand quilting because I am not a very good hand quilter and I don't enjoy doing it. I couldn't bring myself to do machine quilting on this vintage piece. It's done and bound and ready to display.
