This is my version of the 2015 Mystery Quilt Challenge that our guild recently completed. I used a bundle of coordinated black, gray and white fabrics plus a red for some contrast. All of the three different black fabrics have a shiny silver finish that I really like.
I spent 2 weeks exploring Michigan this summer with my husband on our tandem, a bicycle built for two. What a surprise to find a barn quilt trail on Old Mission Peninsula near Traverse City, Michigan. Here are two of the barn quilts I saw while touring the peninsula. He was nice enough to pull over every time I spotted one so I could take pictures. There were 450 other riders on the week long Shoreline West Bicycle Tour in August. I'll share other barn quilts on a future post.
Who are we? Just a group of stitching friends in the north-central Pennsylvania mountains. We love to quilt, sew, knit, embroider, and just about anything else that involves a needle and thread. Please feel free to comment on our posts. We'd love to know who visits our blog.
